Canon has posted a document describing the level of compatibility Windows 7 users can expect with its range of digital cameras, inkjet printers and more, including digital SLRs. The document is short on details but does give the impression that most of Canon's EOS digital lineup will be supported, with relatively few limitations affecting only a handful of models.

Canon Digital Photo Professional updated to v3.7.2
Canon has released Digital Photo Professional (DPP) 3.7.2 for Mac and Windows. The new release fixes an instance (perhaps affecting the Mac version only) of the program quitting unexpectedly and also incorporates the changes in v3.7.0, which include the ability to convert RAW files shot with the EOS 7D, PowerShot G11 and S90, the addition of a noise reduction preview dialog (this makes the noise reduction feature much more usable in our experience) and more.

Nikon ViewNX 1.5.0 adds support for D3S, GPS logs
Nikon has posted ViewNX 1.5.0, adding support for files captured with the upcoming D3S. It also includes the ability to interpret certain GPS log formats, is compatible now with Epson's E-Photo printing utility and fixes bugs. This version of ViewNX is also able to operate in 64-bit Windows Vista, and has been certified for use in Mac OS X 10.5.8. It is not usable in Mac OS X 10.6.x, owing to a continuation of the strange menu display bug of the previous ViewNX release.

LPA Design launches PocketWizard firmware beta program
LPA Design today has launched a beta testing program for the firmware that drives its PocketWizard MiniTT1 and FlexTT5 wireless radio remotes for Canon digital SLRs. In conjunction with the launch of the program is the availability of beta firmware that introduces compatibility with the Canon EOS 7D, eliminates a fast lens/small aperture limitation with the 5D Mark II, adds a function to boost the TTL pre-flash burst for more accurate flash exposures when the Speedlight is in bounce position and brings rear curtain sync to the wireless remote system. Plus, a number of bugs are addressed.
