Thanks for your interest in advertising on Rob Galbraith Digital Photography Insights, the Web’s premier news site for the serious and professional digital photographer. The site, which recently celebrated its tenth year, is consistently in the top positions on Google when searching for “pro digital photography” and is read by about 1.6 million photographers each month in over 100 countries (the majority of visitors come from the USA, Canada, the UK, western Europe, Scandinavia, Australia, Japan and Hong Kong).

Numbers only tell a small part of the story, however. The real strength of the Rob Galbraith Digital Photography Insights web site is two-fold:

  1. Its audience is composed almost entirely of digital SLR owners, many of whom make their living from photography; since 2005, we’ve seen a growing number of medium format back shooters coming to the site as well.

  2. The site is run by professional photographers who are determined to continue to provide the best possible online resource for other photographers.

If your product or service is geared towards the working digital photographer or advanced weekend shooter, there is no better place to have your advertisement seen.

We have a simple advertising structure, based on three industry-standard ad positions and four different monthly ad packages, with discounts if you commit to 6 continuous months or longer. The combined strength of the site’s high-quality readership and a site design that puts ads where visitors will see them adds up to great value for site advertisers.

A description of the ad packages is below. Please contact us for current pricing (serious inquiries only please). Note that ad space is usually reserved several months in advance, so the earlier in your ad planning process you can book space, the more likely it is we'll have the space you need for your campaign.

Advertising packages

  • Ad Package Red: This ad position is 728w x 90h pixels. It’s located prominently at the top of every site page in a small rotation and is the site’s most economical advertising package.

  • Ad Package Green: This ad position is 120w x 600h pixels. It’s located in a vertical strip of three ads (pulled from a rotating pool of ads) in the right column of all site pages.

  • Ad Package Blue. This ad position is 125w x 125h pixels. It’s located in a horizontal strip of five ads (pulled from a rotating pool of ads) in the left column of all site pages. Don’t let the size of this little powerhouse fool you, Blue is our best performing single-location ad package.

  • Ad Package RG B: This package includes all three ad positions described above. If you want to maximize the visibility of your ad, as well as generate the highest number of click-throughs, this is the optimum package.

Formats

Ads can be in GIF, JPEG or SWF format. The use of iFrame code is also supported.

For SWF, the clickTAG method of linking to the destination web page is preferred, though we also accept SWF files with the destination hard-coded into the GetURL statement.

Ads can be changed as often as you like during your campaign. Each ad graphic can link to the same destination page, or a different one, whichever you prefer.

Important notice

Unlike some other web sites and print publications geared towards digital photographers, you will never be asked to purchase an ad as a condition of having your product featured in the editorial content.

Similarly, having an ad on the site will not influence the editorial content, which will remain focused on providing fair and accurate information on all products from advertisers and non-advertisers alike.

This is the approach that serious and pro shooters demand from their information sources, and is in keeping with the philosophy established for the site since it first went live in 1998.
